These are the rooms I live in. I want you to feel like you’re staying in someone’s home, not a hotel. That’s the experience I want to create, and that’s the experience I hope you have.
Four beds, clean sheets, a window that faces the hill. It's the simplest way to be here, and honestly some of our favourite conversations have started in this room at an unreasonable hour.
Brunch and dinner are cooked in the same kitchen and eaten together. That’s just how people here have always eaten. One proper meal in the morning before the day begins, and another when the work is done. What’s on the table comes from the garden when it can, and from nearby when it doesn’t. We don’t ask anyone to stay quiet, but the conversation is usually softer than you’d expect.
There's a low table that has held many cups of tea, several arguments, two weddings worth of planning, and at least one nap a day. Guests tend to gather here in the evenings, mostly because that's where the warmth is.
When the light goes, people drift to the verandah. Someone usually brings out a blanket. Someone usually brings out music, eventually. Then it gets cold, and we go in.
There are a few different ways to stay in the main house. Pick whatever sounds right, or write to us and we'll suggest.
